ENTRY DEADLINE: Must be postmarked by October 1st
ENTRY FEE: $8.00 per animal, $16.00 per animal after October 1st.
ARRIVAL TIME: Friday, November 12, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Prior arrangements must be made for late/early arrivals with the Livestock Director.
NO EARLY ARRIVALS

SHOWTIME: SHOWMANSHIP - Saturday, November 13 at 9:00 a.m. 
YOUTH MEAT SHOW - Saturday, November 13 following Showmanship.
BOER BREEDING SHOW - Saturday, November 13, immediately following Youth Meat Show.
RELEASE TIME: Saturday, November 13, 2010 immediately following show or at the discretion of Chairperson.

ABGA SANCTION SHOW RULES SHALL GOVERN

RULES & REGULATIONS

EXHIBITORS IN ALL SHOWS MUST ABIDE BY THE RULES AND HEALTH REGULATIONS LISTED WITH THE DIVISION OF ANIMAL INDUSTRY CHAPTER 5C-4 ADMISSION OF ANIMALS FOR EXHIBITION. NOTE: THAT TUBERCULOSIS AND BRUCELLOSIS CERTIFICATION DOES NOT APPLY TO THIS DEPARTMENT.


BOER GOATS

 

  1. ENTRIES: There is no limit to the number of animals an exhibitor may enter in the Breeding Boer Goat Show. All entries must be postmarked by October 1, 2010, and the entry fee of $8.00 per goat must accompany the entry form. Wood chip bedding will be provided for the first bedding.  This show is open to the world.
      
  2. REGISTRATION: All goats three months or older must be registered with the American Boer Goat Association (ABGA), International Boer Goat Association (IBGA), or the United States Boer Goat Association (USBGA). Original registration papers must be shown to the Chairperson or their designee at time of check-in. NO COPIES will be accepted. Animals under three months of age must have a stamped duplicate or a faxed duplicate application showing the date received by the ABGA, IBGA, or the USBGA office.
  3. ELIGIBILITY: Animals entered in the Youth Meat Goat Show are not eligible to show in the Breeding Boer Goat Show.
  4. OWNERSHIP: Proof of ownership shall be the name on the registration document. Persons showing animals whose registration certificates have signed transfers that have not been processed by the ABGA, IBGA, or the USBGA office must show those animals as agent for the owner on record.
  5. CLASSES: Animals will be shown by age according to the registration certificate. Management reserves the right to combine or split classes.
  6. IDENTIFICATION: All goats must have I.D. (i.e. ear tag, tattoo, microchip and/or ear notch). This I.D. must match the registration papers of said goat at the time of check-in and I.D. must be included on entry form. Owner is responsible for providing microchip reader if applicable.
  7. GROUP CLASSES: All goats entered in group classes must have shown in individual classes and must be owned by one (1)owner with the same ABGA, IBGA, or the USBGA number (any individual, partnership, corporation, alliance, brother/sister, etc.). For example, a goat owned by an individual and registered under the individuals ABGA, IBGA, or the USBGA number cannot be shown as a part of any group class with the partnership owned goats or vice versa.
    1. Pair of Doe and Buck Kids (full blood only): Two (2) doe kids will make up a pair of doe kids. Two (2) buck kids will make up a pair of buck kids.
    2. Best Pair in Both Sex (full blood only): the best pair entries will be made up of two (2) goats, one (1) doe and one (1) buck, of any age.
    3. Flock (full blood only): flock classes will consist of one (1) yearling or older male, two (2)yearling or older does and two (2) doe kids.
  8. Champions will be chosen from the first place animals in the preceding individual classes. Reserve Champion will be selected from the remaining first place animals, in addition to the second place winner from the individual class from which the Champion was chosen. Junior, Yearlings and Senior Champions will compete for Grand Champion with the Reserve Champion to the Grand Champion competing for the Reserve Champion.
  9. ABGA, IBGA, and the USBGA rules apply for awarding of points to their respective membership. North Florida Fair rules and regulations apply in all other matters.


FOR BREEDING BOER

 

  1. Entry fees for Breeding Percentage and Boer show must accompany entries. Make checks payable to North Florida Fair Association and mail to 441 Paul Russell Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32301-6996. ENTRY FORMS CAN NOW BE FILLED OUT ON-LINE AND THEN PRINTED.  ALL FORMS MUST BE COMPLETE OR THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  All incomplete forms will be returned. If you have any questions about what is acceptable please call the Chairperson or Fair office. 
  2. Entrance to the livestock area will be off Paul Russell Road through Gate 1 on the north side of the Fairgrounds.
  3. Parking in designated areas only. Overnight sleeping will be allowed in the tack pens providing materials are not set up before the barn is closed at 11:00 p.m. No dogs allowed in barn.
  4. Shavings will be provided.
  5. NEW! All personal items, trash and other debris must be cleaned from the barn prior to checkout. Do not empty water buckets in pens. Failure to comply will result in forfeiture of premium monies.
  6. NEW! Area in front of pens must be kept swept and clean.
