RULES & REGULATIONS
Exhibitors must be FFA or 4-H members. Participants must be at least eight years old by entry deadline. Entries will also be accepted from youth who are members of a bona fide beef cattle breed association and who have not reached their 18th birthday by the date of the Fair. This show is open to the world.
Students' entry forms must be signed by the participant's Vo Ag or County Extension Agent and by a parent or guardian. Otherwise, they will not be accepted. Please put your t-shirt size on entry form. Entry fees must accompany entry form. Late fee after October 1st.
Not more than two heifers may be entered per class by an exhibitor or not more than four heifers in the entire show.
The exhibitor must maintain continuous ownership and have possession and provide daily care for the heifer(s) from September 1 to show time (60 days minimum).
The Registration Certificate should be presented at the time heifers are checked in for the show and tattoos may be checked. Copies or duplication of the original registration certificate will be accepted. Registered heifers must be shown in registered breed classes and will not be eligible for commercial classes. Heifers must show in division entered.
Registered and commercial heifers may be leased. A copy of the Official Lease Agreement must be submitted with entry by October 1st. September 1st remains the deadline for possession. FFA advisors or 4-H agents may be requested to verify the possession period.
Registered heifers will be shown by breed.
Divisions may be established for breeds not listed if: a) there are at least 12 heifers of the breed, AND b) entries represent at least two different farms.
All heifers may be mouthed for age and must have their milk teeth. Heifers must be born after September 1, 2008. Exhibitors must bring original registration papers (registered heifers only) and health certificates to the chute as they are checked in.
Exhibitor must show their own animal unless the exhibitor has more than one animal in the same division. Substitute showperson must be a qualified exhibitor. No adults other than officials of the show will be allowed in the ring. Exhibitors unable to maintain control of their cattle may be disqualified at the discretion of the show committee.
False tailheads and false switches will not be permitted. All heifers must be shown in their natural conformation and structure without alteration by modification except for the grooming and treatment of the hair and trimming of the hooves. NO GRAPHITE MAY BE APPLIED!
The following show ring preparation policy is being implemented for the 2010 Steer, Heifer and Showmanship divisions: NO GROOMING MATERIAL IS ALLOWED ON THE ANIMAL. All animals must be washed clean and dried without the use of ANY grooming material/aids (BLOW & GO). The use of brush and /or scotch comb is encouraged. Animals wil be checked in the staging area.
Weigh in: Preview Steers and commercial heifers will be weighed from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12th.
The first place steer in each class will show for the Grand and Reserve Champion. The second place steer from the class from which Grand Champion of the show is picked will compete for Reserve Champion.
ALL STEERS AND HEIFERS MUST BE DEHORNED. Any regrowth of horns should be rasped and made presentable for the show.
All heifers must be tattooed for identification.

The first and second place heifers in each class will compete for Champion and Reserve Champion of the respective breed divisions. Champions of each breed division will compete for Supreme Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion along with the Reserve Champion of the breed division from which the Supreme Champion was selected.
